Are you ready for a Taylor Swift wedding?

July 6, 2026

Question: What is the biggest wedding of the 21st century?

  1. Anant Ambani to Rakhika Merchant?
  2. Jennifer Lopez to Ben Affleck?
  3. Prince William to Kate Middleton?
  4. Taylor Swift to Travis Kelce?

Think carefully. The union of Indian billionaire Ambani to Ms. Merchant had a price tag of $600 million. Wow! That would be enough to easily fund more than 20,000 American weddings!

But no, that’s not the biggest.

Regarding Ms. Lopez and Mr. Affleck, their union lasted but a year, so we’ll quickly discount the millions Lopez spent on gowns and dresses and chalk up her wedding as an excuse to expand her wardrobe.

What about Prince William and the delightful Kate Middleton? Their vows were viewed by an international television audience of 2 Billion (with a capital B!). Definitely a big deal.

But if we’re all honest, the Swift/Kelce wedding is the biggest of them all! Taylor Swift is the biggest cultural icon of her generation. Her fame and impact are staggering. Commentators point out that each of the 149 shows she put on during her Eras Tour was the economic equivalent of bringing a Super Bowl to that city!

Swift songs have garnered 127 Billion (again, with a capital B!) streams compared to a ‘paltry’ 24 Billion for the legendary Michael Jackson.

Kelce is a future NFL Hall-of-Famer with 3 Super Bowl rings and a highly successful podcast. A celebrity in his own right.

Culturally speaking, theirs is the biggest wedding of the century. Analysts guesstimate that they spent $20 million on their wedding, chump change compared to a Billionaire from India, but with far greater cultural impact in America … and beyond.

The “Swiftification of Weddings”

The Knot sees a rising tide of marriage in the next few years, which they characterize as the “Swiftification of Weddings.” They go on to say:

“Their union will spark cultural enthusiasm for weddings, influencing couples’ choices across attire, décor, and overall event style. Just as Kate Middleton’s gown reshaped bridal fashion, the star couple’s looks and aesthetic decisions will inspire new trends.”

They project that Swift will do to the wedding industry what she has done to the local economies of the cities her tour visits: create a boom. The Knot projects an $1.8 Billion impact on the U.S. over the next 2 years.

Thank-you, Taylor Swift, for making marriage cool again!
